Social Worker
Betsy Chociej
Before LEAD:
I began my career in Social Work at a local non-profit where I served as a therapist in a day treatment setting. After that, I spent a year managing two school-based programs for the same agency. Recently, I joined the Park Hill School District as the Social Worker at Hopewell and English Landing Elementary Schools. I am proud to be a part of the Park Hill team!
Why I'm at LEAD:
I believe that students have the resilience and skills to be most successful when relationships are the foundation of learning. The model that LEAD employs to mentor and foster innovation and other life skills within students is something that I believe can be incredibly powerful in a student's life during their time at LEAD and beyond.
What I'm most looking forward to:
First and foremost, I am looking forward to building relationships with students, families, and staff! I am also looking forward to seeing and being a part of the innovation among students and faculty in this program.
About me:
I was born and raised in the Kansas City area and attended Mizzou and Washington University before returning to my hometown. I live with my husband, Ben, and our two pet rabbits. My favorite thing to do is to spend time with family and friends and connect with others. I also love to read, bake, travel, and try new restaurants. I play the viola in a community symphony.
