Before LEAD: Prior to coming to LEAD, I was a science teacher at Park Hill High School.  I had the privilege of teaching Biology, Human Anatomy, Principles of Biomedical Science, Human Body Systems and Environmental Science over the course of my 10 years in the building.

Why I’m at LEAD: I have been teaching project based learning classes the last three years in my Project Lead the Way Biomedical Science classes and really enjoyed the hands-on aspect of student learning.  Fundamentally, this model is what I believe not just science, but all education should look like.  School should be engaging, hands-on, and should prepare you with skills that you will use in your future.  Our ability to encompass inquiry and authentic learning experiences will enable us to do just that at LEAD.

What I’m most looking forward to: I am most looking forward to watching the growth that takes place this year with our students, and look forward to continuing to build strong foundations in the group of students that I mentor.  As we build as a community, I look forward to the steps we are going to take to educate the “whole child” and I think that will set LEAD a part from the opportunities at the other two high schools.

About Me: My husband, who is a history teacher at Park Hill, and I have two sweet and silly boys named Dash and Holden.  I love sports, especially soccer and college basketball.  Even though I was born and raised in Missouri, I am a Jayhawk through and through.  Rock Chalk!
