Courtney Carter - Family & Consumer Science
Family & Consumer Science facilitator

Before LEAD:
Before LEAD, I have been in Connecticut, Virginia, Kansas and Nebraska. My experience has led me through 16 years of grades 5-12, along with adult education, in varied environments from urban, suburban, and a mix of international/high turnover yearly of student body/large high school settings. This varied experience has given me fuel to learn new ways to teach in every setting, for every student. Throughout my journey I have always been blessed to teach my passion of life skills as a Family & Consumer Science Teacher. Here is a recap of my varied subject strengths: culinary, personal finance, health, teacher cadet, housing, child development, human growth & development, independent living, and careers.

Why I'm at LEAD:
I am at LEAD because I searched for a new way of teaching and learning that best fits the student. I love assisting students in making cross-curricular connections and real life. I enjoy making connections with my students and being a mentor to guide and facilitate success. Combining all these loves brings me to an exciting new chapter where I get to be part of a team that makes it all happen!

What I'm most looking forward to:
I look forward to so many things, while living each day to it's fullest! In this journey I look forward to opening a new building with a strong staff that will feel like family. I am pumped to meet my new students and make connections with them that will be a solid foundation in their educational journey.
