We are trying to do the right things to take care of our students, our staff and our community. This is a difficult time for everyone, but it helps to know that this won’t last forever.

Many members of our Park Hill family are hurting right now. Our hearts are with our students, staff and families for whom George Floyd’s death is another horrible reminder of systemic racism.

Parents, guardians and students can learn more about opportunities for support as we navigate this pandemic together.

On May 11 LEAD held a "virtual" showcase highlighting student work this year. Check out some examples of amazing student projects at LEAD:

High School students in Park Hill School District can choose to attend their home high school or the LEAD Innovation Studio. Students and families are encouraged to weigh options and select the best fit. At LEAD, we are often asked what makes LEAD different and what learning looks like in our program.

The district received the Innovation Award for the LEAD Innovation Studio. Recognizing creative practices for making a powerful difference for students and staff, the $1,250 award is a collaboration between the Missouri Association of School Administrators and McKinstry, a design and construction company. Park Hill is one of two winners in the state.

A LEAD Innovation Studio student was recently featured in a district-wide newsletter. Inspired by a LEAD course, Katherine Etheridge has been working to get partners for her plan to make blankets for people who are homeless.

For some students in the Park Hill School District, high school looks very different. Students at the LEAD Innovation Studio experience a full-day program in a leased space in a local office building, where they immerse themselves in a flexible, personalized learning environment, focused on problem-solving skills, project-based learning and professional experiences. Next school year, we will open LEAD's own building, which is designed for this unique program.
